Skate Archives No. 01

This original 12" × 16" in mixed media collage is part of the Skate Archives series. Each piece is constructed from scanned imagery sourced from vintage skate magazines, layered and reassembled by hand, then finished with sprayed paint to create texture, movement, and depth.

The work pulls from skateboarding’s printed history—capturing moments of motion, architecture, and attitude—and recontextualizes them through a physical, tactile process. The contrast between archival imagery and expressive paint marks reflects the raw, imperfect nature of skate culture and the environments it moves through.

Each collage is one-of-one and mounted on plywood, emphasizing durability and material honesty. No two pieces are the same.
